Cecilia

This post should have come much earlier, I know. I've made quite a number of people watch the movie, Atonement because I am an addict. I was so attracted to the 1930s era, solemn yet mysterious approach of the story, the filming technique, and don't mind me throw in, the accent! Haha. But well, all that aside, I highly suspect the reason it remains one of my favourite is.. Keira Knightley in all that costume designs! Sings.. take my breath away.

Was it the dress or the way Cee carry herself that exudes air of a 1930s lady in that dress? Either way, she stole my attention! The green dress, the swimming suit, the silk robe.. *gasps*

Oversized fishnet

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Can't believe I actually finished cutting up the whole pair of leggings. First thought that came into my mind when looking at the finished product: oversized fishnet tights. With the lamé finish, it's so easy to look tacky. The 'straps' aren't as skin tight as I expected. Anyway credit to Park and Cube for her amazing tutorial.

Deconstructed reformation

This has got to be the most jaw dropping collection for me at the moment. Giant paper roses dress, expanded encaged silhouette and recycled cd dress. I am always attracted to fashion being impractical it seems. The more weird, the better - Sends my imagination into a different realm. Very nice!

Writtenafterwards A/W 2009 from JPW

Looks like a massive amount of paper, tapes, wire, card boards, and colour dyes were involved. Hell alot of creative juices too.

Kate moss for Topshop Summer 2009

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
Yeah it looks nice on Kate Moss. But how does it really look like in real life?

I went town today to get a few white t-shirts but got majorly sidetracked with Kate Moss's  new collection which launched today. I am impressed by the zebra bandeau dress, it's the only bandeau dress that won't slip! Dresses are cute, but the zips are dodgy. Steered clear of the shimmery silk-ish pieces, they don't look very appealing.

I would say her dresses are a good fit. The playsuit was on the larger side so I didn't get it. The zebra bandeau dress is in a nice nude/coral shade. I would have bought it if the hook closure thing hadn't gone missing. So, I got the other two in the end! What do you think of her latest collection?

Triple lace-up boots

Missed out on the Ann Demeuleester triple lace-up boots? These Mirada boots bear an uncanny resemblance to the infamous boots. Now you can get them at All Saints.

More than just label

Writtenafterwards.

A little introduction to the duo, Yoshikazu Yamagata & Kentaro Tamai. Both graduated from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design. Sneak peek of their work:

Kentaro Tamai

I'll write more of them soon on Japan Fashion Week. Blow my mind.

Stolen girlfriends club says relax

This is the A/W 09 collection from SGC which came out September last year. I am wayyyy behind time! My heart skipped a beat when I saw the pair of bandage silk leggings on pixiemarket. The knitted leggings/tights and top look amazing too.

I look forward to their Spring 09 offerings. Rumi from fashiontoast has already sported one of their upcoming pieces!

Thrifting Toyko

Words cannot describe how excited I am about my Tokyo trip in 4 weeks' time. 3 years ago I was lucky enough to visit Tokyo for the first time in my life. Now with all the major attractions out of the way, I can cherry pick the places I want to go. I don't know how I am going to navigate the city all by myself. Hopefully I'll meet some nice people who will go shopping with me!

Just in case I don't get to go to these lovely vintage shops, I'll share these articles I found about them! These are the stores that came up frequently in these articles: Chicago, Hanjiro, Kinji, Thank You Mart.

Whether I'll go to any of the store remains a question. Right now I'd say there is probably 20% chance. Meh, we'll see.

That cage skirt

That Acne/iheartnorweigeanwood/stylebubble cage skirt is finally available (but sold out) in Topshop... Did you manage to get your hands on the cage?

Fat Sales

Fat store is having sales! All the information needed is pretty much on the ad. The sales started earlier last week, I'm sorry this again came late. Two more days to go sweep up cheap designer's clothing! Good luck shopping!

Small me

You might not see much of me in heels because when I'm out of the house, I'd be heading off to uni or a quick run to closeby food outlet for meals. Most of the time, occasions that doesn't call for heels. Unless really, if I am in the mood for it, they shall never see daylight. Maybe I should make an effort to show them off in photographs instead.

one day..

Just to keep the outfit postings going. I'm sorry this is not a full attire. I was too lazy to put on some shoes. So, throw in your imaginations! Think black. Think stockings. Think oxfords.

Ok, thanks bye!

the selby

background image credit: the selby

Here I am, don't really fit in the erin wasson's wall of bags and shoes. The selby showcases photos of inspiring people in their houses. Have a look at his website, if you have not already done so. Prepared to be inspired! Meanwhile, some of my photos will be filled with unreal background until... I find a better wall!

(h&m trench coat and top, people of asia company skirt, forever 21 necklace, random ruched lace leggings, zara boots)

Mini Margiela

credit: browns fashion

I'm baffled. I can't find a lot of information about Martin Margiela's 20th anniversary special collectors items. Went to Browns fashion to look for new arrivals, and I saw this. Then, I went to his website in hope for more information, but couldn't find any for that cute little coat. (Just found out that the measurements are 39cm x 20cm.) The silk print poster and sandals mules were featured in the 20th anniversary show last year.

By the way, you should really check out his website. Very cool.

Who Melbourne?

Did ya know Scott Schuman was in town? I bet all of you did except me. How could I possibly be kept in the dark unless I either had to come all the way from Pluto and my spaceship was running low on fuel, I arrived three days too late or... maybe, I really lived on Pluto. Well, even if I did learn about it and got there.. I'd be too shy to make conversations. You know, only for the sake of being part of it. Maybe a simple hello and photo if he's nice. Then get myself a drink, make myself comfortable and watch. Ahh, I love people watching.

Anyway if you're still wondering who he is.. He is the man behind all the wonderful photos on The Sartorialist. On Sunday, he had an informal party at Cutler & Co Bar in Fitzroy and mainly to do a call casting for a photoshoot with SABA the next day. Work + play, he sure knows life.

The Science of Sleep

credit: Ulrika Sandström

Palette is the theme of Ulrika Sandstrom's S/S 09 collection. Her previous collections include Dear Catastrophe Waitress, Pretty in Pink, Confetti, Big in Japan, PJ, Tiny Dancer, Tea Time de Luxe and Vietnam Collection. Having glanced through her collections quickly, they reflect her theme perfectly. Florals, ruffles for Tea Time Deluxe (English countryside) and  primary colours, rubik cubes for Confetti. Go see for yourself. I really really like this collection!
